WELCOME PARENTS!

We know the Recruitment process can be overwhelming for a parent, especially because many members at SFA are first generation Greeks. We wanted to create a place where parents could go to get all of their questions answered and best prepare them for their daughter's involvement in Chi Omega. Below, you will find in-depth information about our finances, academics, events, and our house. If there is anything we haven't covered, please visit our Contact page. We would love to answer any questions you may have!

Many of our members pay their own dues and have successfully balanced academics, work, and Chi Omega to do so. We offer opportunities for financial assistance, personalized for our members as needed. Monthly payment plans are available to every member, scholarship opportunities are provided each semester, and our treasurer works confidentially with individuals to find what works best for their circumstances.

Annual National Member Fees: To be in good standing as a Chi Omega, once per year every active member pays a fee to our national headquarters.

Chapter Dues: Chapter dues contribute to all of the fun socials and sisterhoods we provide for our members! This allows us to provide the best experience possible for our sisters.

House Fees: Each member is responsible for paying a house fee so we can have open access to our house! Any member is able to use the Chi Omega house at any time, whether to study, have a movie night, or just hang out!

WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED FEES?

WILL GREEK LIFE GET IN THE WAY
OF SCHOOL?

We take pride in our academics in Chi Omega. School is always our top priority and your membership should never hinder your academic success! It is our goal that Chi Omega will only foster further academic success. We offer several resources and accountability for our members to take advantage of, including:

  • Study groups separated by majors

  • Mentorship through older members with the same major

  • Study hours for new members

  • Meetings with our Vice President, who oversees chapter academics

We host several types of events throughout the year!

Sisterhoods are among our favorite events -- this is a special bonding time where our members are the only ones in attendance. These events allow sisters to get to know each other better and bring our chapter closer as a whole.

Social Events allow us to branch out and include those who are not in the chapter in our fun! We host two different formats; socials planned exclusively with another organization on campus, and socials that allow us to bring a guest of our choosing whether that be a date, roommate, or just a friend.

Philanthropy Events are focused solely on benefitting Make-A-Wish! All proceeds go directly to granting our Wish Kid's wish. To learn more about our partnership with Make-A-Wish, visit our Philanthropy page!

WHAT EVENTS
DO YOU HOST?

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

The time commitment is really up to you! We have mandatory meetings once a week along with a few mandatory events throughout the semester but you always have the option to submit an excuse and work with our Secretary if you cannot attend. We have many events throughout the semester that are optional. You get out of it what you put into it! Many of our members are very involved but also participate in other activities outside of Chi Omega and have part-time jobs. If you are worried being a part of a sorority will take up too much of your time, that's not the case at all!
